Your Nails are too ten? Too what?

Too teeeennnnn you know like skinny. “My nails are too skinny?”

I know you are wondering what the hell I am talking about. Well let me begin by saying I nearly lost my sanity today, my kids were absolutely horrible. After dinner I told my husband that I needed a mental health evening if he wanted to keep me as the wonderful wife that I am so I was going to go get a pedicure and some books. I got to the mall and got my books as planned and happily headed to the sanctuary of Professional Nails and Tanning. It was time for my indulgence of heavenly foot soaking and toe nail painting.

I arrive in the salon and ask if they had time to do a pedicure, sure they say and ask me to pick my polish. I inform them I would like the french style polish so they direct me to my seat. A dainty little oriental woman comes up and sits down and happily begins working on my feet. A few minute into it she gets up and walks over to my hands and the conversation goes like this:

“You want manicure too?”
“Sure”
“Yes….good, you need manicure, your nails are to ten”
“I’m sorry what”
“Too teennnnn, you know like skinny”
“My nails are too skinny?”
“Yes, instead how about we give you tips so you nails don’t break”
“Okay that is fine”
“You will like because then you can have pretty nails”

Well by this time I am just about to crack up because not only could I not understand her well, but I was told I have ugly nails and I got suckered into spending 50 dollars more than I planned on spending. So not only did I not get to relax as much as I would have liked because my little lady friend was blasting my nails the whole time, I did not even get to start one of the books I bought and I spent 75.00 instead of 25.00 because my nails are too ten! Yes I finally figured out it meant thin. On the bright side my nails and toes look amazing!
