Getting to know my husband!

Submitted by on October 6, 2008 – 7:57 pm15 Comments

So here is the first of several installments of getting to know my family.  I figured since he is the one I will be with until the day I die I would give him the honor of being first….

He is probably going to kill me for that picture.  Here is a better one of the two of us:

I met him when I started working at Wal-Mart pharmacy in January 2002.  Most may not know, unless you have known me for a while, that from the beginning I didn’t notice him.  I was separated from my ex-husband and at that time I was still working on my marriage to him.  Finally one day I woke up and realized I was fighting for something that was better off out of my life (I can tell my past stories and testimonies in another post for those who are interested).

Then all of the sudden I saw this handsome man, who had been right in front of me the whole time.  The first time I spoke with him I just felt this is the person I was supposed to be with, the person I am not going to spend forever with.  September 2002 a bunch of tech’s went out and that is the first time I really talked to him and I remember sitting on his lap and I was like, this is him this is him. I just knew this was right.  Later that month we had our first official date and our first kiss and it was the most memorable moment I have from when we first started dating.

So we dated for 3 months and then in December he asked me to marry him.  I was so surprised but excited.  We got married 2 months later February 15, 2003 (we were pg when we got married).  My son was our ring bearer and he was the most adorable ring bearer ever.  We had our son Aidan in August 2003 and then of course Bella came in June 2005.  My husband is a wonderful father to his children.  Obviously I had Gabriel when my husband and I met and let me tell you something about this wonderful man I married, he took to Gabriel from the minute he met him and has been the best father I could have asked for to come into Gabriel’s life.

Then to make our life even more perfect, my husband adopted Gabriel making him legally his son, same last name and all.  Now don’t get me wrong we didn’t need to do the adoption because Brent is the one who is there for Gabriel the one who practices soccer, goes to cub scouts, helps him with homework, takes him to do dad/son things, but Gabriel really wanted to have the same last thing as all of us.  The day he adopted Gabriel was the day my family was finally whole.  That may seem silly to say b/c we were never not a whole family but that was the day my son smiled up and me and said "Now I have my Daddy’s last name"

My husband is an avid hunter, he works hard to support us, he keeps me happy (which is not an easy task).  He  just finished school in August and is just absolutely amazing at everything he does.  All in all I have to say I hit the jackpot and am the luckiest woman in the world (sorry all you other ladies who are married, I have to say no one will top him).  So now you know a little about my husband, the love of my life!
