Norton PC Tuneup Review and Giveaway CLOSED

Submitted by Toni on November 28, 2008 – 8:48 pm101 Comments

Thanks to Mom Central I had the chance to review the Norton PC Tuneup. I never ever use my desktop because it takes ages to start anything.

I was so excited to get to review this because my PC needed a face lift for sure. It ran slow, it took forever to navigate web pages and I gave up on it and rarely jumped on it.

There was an initial problem when I called Norton because they did not have the correct code but after some investigating we moved right along to the tuneup. My advisor was Heather and she was absolutely amazing. When the code didn’t work she made a point to look into it and got it working for me. Once all was good, we installed the Norton Jump Start which is basically a report card for your computer.

After that finished running, Heather remotely accessed my computer and started her magic. During the process she was very good about explaining everything she was doing and what it would do or help with my computer. She was extremely friendly and patient and answered all the questions I had along the way.

I learned how to cleanup my unused desktop icons. I learned how to make my start up time on my computer quicker. I learned when you are downloading something to save it and scan it before installing it (yes this is obvious to some but I am not technical at all). She ran the cleanup of my drivers, told me what I needed to set my recycles bin too.

I loved watching everything she was doing from her computer to my computer and loved the fact that she explained everything as she was doing it was awesome! She didn’t make me feel dumb when I asked a question and explained it in a way that I will be able to remember it later. I learned how much memory I have and what I need to do if I want to upgrade it. I learned how much RAM I am using and what it should remain under.

I noticed a difference right from the beginning when it hit my home screen, it did not take nearly as long to start up on my home screen as before the tune up (one of the reasons I hated the desktop). The Internet browser start up time was much quicker as well. The time spent on the phone was a bit longer than the estimated 30-45 minutes but it was well worth the extra time.

If your PC is sluggish I highly suggest investing in Norton PC Tuneup.

However before you run out and get one on your own dime why not try to win one here. That’s right I am giving you the chance to win one of 3 PC Tuneups. MomCentral has donated 3 Norton PC Tuneup to help “revive” your dead PC. If you want to win one of these trial cards (valued at $69.99 each) leave a comment here with your email address and you will be entered. That’s all, not hard just comment! One comment per person please!
