Blotiquette Lesson 2: Just Say No To Tweet Wars ~Keep the Tweace

Blogtiquette
Do you know how tacky it is to bash other blogs/bloggers on twitter? Or to banter back and forth with a blogger on twitter? Are we in second grade here people or are we grown adults that are classy (okay so some obviously lack the class part but we ARE adults).
Let’s Post a hypothetical twitter war, the asailants will be twitter peep 1 and twitter peep 2 (original I know)
1: @2 you know you had no right to blog that about me. (bad bad bad why the hell start this on twitter, take it to email is the first point…DUH, oh wait could it be secretly 1 wants drama to play the woe is me card…hmm)

2: @1 yes I did you were talking smack about me to other bloggers (no no no, why even fall for twitter peeps 1 trap, wake up and smell the coffee dude you are setting yourself up and you don’t even realize it)

1: @2 I don’t know what you are talking about I haven’t said anything (although lying as we all know this person is making themselves look like the victim…sigh)

2: @1 I know you did I had someone tell me and I haven’t done anything to you (well now this is never true, unless you are God himself, we have all done something)

1: Everyone should quit following @2 because he is psycho (thanks a lot you idiot now you sparked interest on twitter and probably caused an overload so no one gets to tweet.)

2: No you all should tell everyone how @1 really is, tell them about his true colors. (my guess is most already know his true colors and avoid them anyways, and those that dont’ eventually will, still shooting yourself in the foot here)
Etc, ETC, ETC. It goes on sides are taken, followers are dropped, people are blocked who haven’t done a damn thing to anyone. Twitter becomes one big drama fest and believe it or not, not everyone likes drama.
If you have some problem with someone that is on twitter don’t be an idiot and call them out or tweet about them unless you are the type that thinks “bad press is still press” well that’s one way to get it but if people follow you are come to your blog just because you are in the middle of some shiznit chances are they will unfollow you and quit visiting just as quickly. So you aren’t really doing yourself any favors tweet peep 1.
If you are the tweet peep 2 in this scenario don’t fall for it and just move on. Show you are the bigger person and sit back and watch while tweeple 1 implodes because they don’t have their woe is me card to play. Don’t blog about them, don’t tweet about them, don’t give in and give them exactly what they want. If you do, you have no one but yourself (nope you can’t even blame them) to blame when it all backfires on you.
Tweet wars are stupid and petty and well make those involved look like fools so please do yourself (and all the rest of us) a favor and keep the tweace (tweet + peace = tweace). No MoRe TwItTeR wArs! They are petty and stupid.
Just Say no to Tweet wars: Keep the Tweace!
*Please remember Blogtiquette Lessons are all in good fun, they do have a serious point but they aren’t based off any situations that I know of. If this post resembles any situation that is sheer coincedence. So just enjoy them!

I’ve never seen a tweet war. And why would someone ask Jenn or anyone not to follow you? Wow. If someone drops, me they drop me. Also, you don’t have to follow everyone who is following you. I just have fun on twitter and lurk most of the time, but I so totally agree with your post.

  12. Lisa @ Crazy Adventures in Parenting says:
