Taboo Thursday: Interrupted S-E-X

Submitted by Toni on June 25, 2009 – 1:03 pm11 Comments

Today’s Taboo Thursday is all about S-E-X.

In this anonymous interview a southern belle tells you about a little situation that happened to her and her husband when they wanted to have a little alone time. Please watch the following interview and then weigh in with your answers.

So now it’s time for you to help this sweet Southern Belle.

What would you do in a situation?

Have you ever been in this situation? If so please share (no the super detailed version of course) what happened.

When do you plan on having the “talk” with your kids?

Southern Belle would greatly appreciate your answers.

talking to kids about sex

It’s something we all dread but at some point we have to face it, I think I will talk to the girl and let hubby take the boys, it gives me a few more years to plan LOL

    Amy A.K.A. "The Mrs." says:

LOL…You crack me up! (By you, I mean your "guest", of course).
Alex is 2 so I'm guessing it will be a while before we talk to him about "that stuff". :)

    Mrs. {Erin} Cox says:

Oh my – well water conservation is a top priority isn't it. ;)

We haven't had this problem yet obviously, but I imagine we'll come up with a doozy when the situation comes up…

    A Busy Mommy says:

This happened to us the other night/morning. DS woke up (at the end of it) all worried about me. "Mom, why were you crying" I tried so hard to keep a strait face. I just told him I was having a bad dream. he's only 4, he believed me

HOLY CRAP this was hysterical …. Ok "Sally Sue" if my youngin' walked in on us havin' relations it would mean I was gittin' some so I think I'd tell them to there was an ice cream truck coming down the street but they'd have to chase it down a few blocks. Or maybe I'd just tell them we were kissing on the lips – that freaks them out and I'm sure they'd go find something to do….

I have two girls. Our first "talk" was when they were in the 5th grade. There are girls who begin menstruating that early and so it's very important that they understand the changes that will happen to their bodies. There is an EXCELLENT book out called "Our Bodies Ourselves" It's been around for years and has been updated over the years. Not all chapters are appropriate for a 5th grader, but by junior high every chapter is appropriate.

must go squirrel my way into my bedroom to watch this because my kids are sitting in the living room, and they HEAR everything. LOL

We just resently bought a lock for our bedroom door! we like to "sleep in" :)

    Jennifer-EightyMPHMom says:

Hmmm – this is a good one. If they catch you "in the act" and question it, say that mommy and daddy were play wrestling, or that we were having "tickle time". Moms and dad's like to play too right?

Sally Sue was an excellent guest!

    Deb says:

We don't have to worry about being walked in on yet, but have been busted by little ears. My 2 y/o has been banging the wall with his hand and saying "Ooh-ooh-ooh" ever since he might have overheard something last weekend when we thought he was napping. Have just been trying to divert his attention; no reports (yet) that he's performed this impression at daycare. Yikes, though.

BTW, I would have done the same thing as "Sally Sue" in the shower!
