Dreams of Disney Dashed! Well It’s Their Loss…
or so I tell myself so I will feel better!
You see today I awoke with an excitement like none other, it was the day to apply to become a Disney Panel Mom for the next year. Think Walmart 11 Moms but for Disney. I dashed over there the very minute the application was up (yes I had it set to alarm me on my iCal on baby Macbook, because I am a big dork).
I ran my little fingers across the keyboard as fast they could go and made it to the application form in record time. I filled out the 3 questions very heartfelt , with the best answers ever I might add when I decided that I should probably read the rules first. HEARTBREAK
I saw the one rule that is poppy cock if you ask me, to be a Disney Panel Mom you have to have been there in the last year. Now for me, I think that anyone who loves Disney (no matter when they were there last) should be able to be considered for a Panel position. Well since I had some awesome kick a&$ answers I added a bit extra to them as to why those that may not have necessarily been in the last year should be considered.
I wonder how many people applied that didn’t read the rules and if they get picked will they be honest? Well at least I have that going for me right, I was up front in my application about when I last went to Disney so I figure at least I didn’t lie advertantly or inadvertantly. If I don’t make the Disney Mom Panel there is always Disney Mom Bloggers right.
Disney Hear my cry, even those of us who may not have been to your wonderland in the last year could the just the person you need on your Mom Panel. My Disney dream is dashed but there is always next year right, if I make it to Disney this year .

I was upset as well. We are trying (trying is the word here) to save up to go to Disney next year. I have not been since I was 4 years old. Why should this be a factor? A mom panel should have knoweldge of Disney, I agree to that, but the rules were absurd. I am a Disney fan, just because my family could not afford to spend a fourtune on a family vacation when I was growing up and just because my husband and I can not afford to spend a fortune on a family vacation right now to Disney makes me ineligable??? What bull!
I have been to the Disney Store a million times in the last year… I have watched Disney Movies a million times in the last year, I have a 4 year old daughter who is OBSESSED with Disney and the Disney Princesses… We visit the Disney website every week to check out the cool rides and the cool things they have for ppl to do there. I am a MOM with a young child… that in itself should make me elligable to apply to be on the panel. Why waste your time with people who have been able to go in the past year and maybe… jusy maybe… put Mom’s on your panel who have a passion for Disney, who have children that are “Disney” age.. hard working mom’s who are hard up for cash for a family vacation to Disney are just as good as Mom’s who happened to visit Disney this year… can ya tell I am kinda pissed?????

I did apply, I didn’t even know they were taking applications, a friend actually posted the link on FB for me! Having lived close to the parks, I have a unique perspective on visits to Disney. I doubt I will be chosen, my daughter does not want me to be chosen, she doesn’t want me to go to Orlando!
