Nestle Family Holiday Giveaway (Ends 1/3)
GIVEAWAY IS NOW CLOSED ANY COMMENT AFTER 433 WILL NOT BE COUNTED!!!
I am a huge fan of Nestle products, they have been in my life ever since I was a baby. Â Around the holiday’s I tend to use quite a bit of Nestle items, holiday and Nestle just go hand in hand if you ask me.
This holiday season one of the things that I think is a great idea to give is Nestle’s recipe “Oatmeal-Chip Cookie Mix In A Jar”. Â This holiday season for us is tight so gift giving to others outside of our kids is a hardship, however with this home made gift it will allow us to give to those we may not have been able to otherwise. Â I thought today I would share that recipe with you for any of those who are in the same situation as us or who may be looking for last minute gifts.
Oatmeal-Chip Cookie Mix In A Jar
Ingredients
- 2/3 cup all purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/3 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup NESTLE® TOLL HOUSE® Semi-Sweet Chocolate Morsels or Butterscotch Flavored Morsels
- 1 & 1/2 cups quick or old-fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup chopped nuts
Packaging
- Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in small bowl. Â Place flour mixture in 1 quart jar.
- Layer remaining ingredients in order listed above, pressing firmly after each layer.
- Seal with lid and decorate with fabric and ribbon.
- Attach following recipe for recipient to follow.
Recipe
- Beat 1/2 cup (1 stick) softened butter or margarine, 1 large egg and 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract in large mixer bowl until blended.
- Add cookie mix; mix well, breaking up any clumps.
- Drop by rounded tablespoon onto ungreased baking sheets
- Bake in preheated 375º oven for 8-10 minutes.
- Cool on baking sheets for 2 minutes; remove to wire racks. Â Makes about 2 dozen cookies
So you can be crafty and give someone something yummy to make this holiday season, not to mention the layered ingredients will photograph wonderfully. Â Which brings me to the awesome holiday contest Nestle has going on. Â Nestle is having a wonderful Holiday Photo Memories Contest where you have the chance to win $500 (actually 5 people will win $500) and 45 finalists will win $50.
To enter simply submit a photo in one or more of the categories and you are entered. Â If you make it to the finals you will receive a $50 GC and then the 5 grand prize winners will receive the $500 Gift Cards, who knew something we all do around the holidays (taking pictures) could pay off so much. Â The five categories are :
- Home for the Holidays (family, friends and such)
- Deck the Halls (show off that decor)
- Kids in the kitchen (your little chef working away)
- Cuddly Moments (anything sweet and cuddly from babies to pets will do)
- Bah Humbag (did you happen to catch a scrooge moment on camera)
So take lots of pictures and remember to enter then in the Holiday Photo Memories Contest. Â The contest will close on 1/4/2010 at 6 p.m. ET Â so be sure to get those photos in before then.
