Quotable Sunday: Prayer

Submitted by Toni on January 10, 2010 – 9:21 am8 Comments

Hey Everyone! It’s Sunday so that means it’s a day of easy post if you are joining us in Quotable Sunday. If you are new and just seeing this for the first time please feel free to join in with us. All you have to do is post one or more quotes as a post on your blog and then grab the link to that post and add it to the Mr. Linky below my quotes.

Today my quotes are on prayer. Prayer is a big part of my life though I haven’t done it lately near as much as I Need to so that will be changing. It’s the one thing I know I can turn to when I feel lost, scared, not sure why something is happening in my life. Praying to God truly is my peace.

Any concern too small to be turned into a prayer is too small to be made into a burden. ~Corrie ten Boom
If you can’t pray about it then why do you worry about it?

Prayer is exhaling the spirit of man and inhaling the spirit of God. ~Edwin Keith
And how sweet that is to me, getting rid of “me” and just enjoying Him.

Be thankful that God’s answers are wiser than your answers. ~William Culbertson
Oh there are so many times I have chosen unwisely but many more times that I would have come up with an answer to stay in a bad situation or relationship and God took me out of them. Thank goodness for that.

God has editing rights over our prayers. He will… edit them, correct them, bring them in line with His will and then hand them back to us to be resubmitted. ~Stephen Crotts
In the end if it is His will it will always be BEST for my life!

Some people think that prayer just means asking for things, and if they fail to receive exactly what they asked for, they think the whole thing is a fraud. ~Gerald Vann
Thankfully I have learned just because I don’t receive what I am asking for when I ask for it doesn’t mean I never will but if I don’t it was better and God knew so!

Before we can pray, “Lord, Thy Kingdom come,” we must be willing to pray, “My Kingdom go.” ~Alan Redpath
This is obviously hard for a lot of people, people who like to control situations and people haven’t quite learned letting go.

God tells us to burden him with whatever burdens us. ~Author Unknown
Life is so much more bearable for me when I do this.

Our prayers should be for blessings in general, for God knows best what is good for us. ~Socrates
Just because I want something doesn’t mean it’s best for my life.

There come times when I have nothing more to tell God. If I were to continue to pray in words, I would have to repeat what I have already said. At such times it is wonderful to say to God, “May I be in Thy presence, Lord? I have nothing more to say to Thee, but I do love to be in Thy presence.” ~O. Hallesby
In His presence is where I truly find peace, and then when I am in the midst of a storm I remember to get back in his prensence and He will hold me.

God always answers our prayers, but sometimes the answer is no. ~Author Unknown
God knows what’s best for me it’s that simple

Now it’s your turn, link up your quotable Sunday’s in the Mr. Linky and check out all the other participants this week
