$25 iTunes Gift Card Giveaway & My Living Stories Review {CLOSED}
Thanks to Mom Central I had the chance to review 3 stories from My Living Stories. Â Let me preface by saying, I am connected all the time and when I am not playing with my iPhone my kids are. Â They come by it naturally I guess. Â Whether they are playing with the voice recorder (cool app that changes your voice), Talking Tom (an app that records your voice and the tom cat speaks what you said) or playing red ball (which they can master and I can not) my kids love to play on my phone. Â Sometimes it’s hard for me to find an app that appeals to all 3 of my kids and My Living Stories has done just that.
Before I continue on let me tell you a little about My Living Stories (taken from their site):
Living Stories animated storybooks bring new and classic children’s tales to life on your iPhoneâ„¢ or iPod® Touch. Living Stories combine beautiful art, narration, interactive features and compelling stories. Even better, Living Stories are easy-to-use for kids, allowing preschoolers to read along on their own, without any help.
Living Stories are the perfect way to entertain kids and to help them learn to read, whether you are at home or on-the-go!
We received 3 stories to try out. King Midas, The Princess and The Pea, as well as The Tortoise & The Hare. Â Three classic stories that I loved when I was growing up except I didn’t have the cool way to read (or have it read to me) like my kids do. Â There are several ways to experience the stories:
- You can have the story read to you with the pre-recorded voice
- Just play the background music so the learning readers can read it and practice
- Or you can record your own (or your child’s) voice to read the story and make it a bit more personalized. I have to say I LOVE the record option. Â When I am gone on a trip this will be perfect for my kids so they can listen to me read them the story (from my husbands phone of course).
You can have the stories read to you in English or for a little culture, French. Â My Living Stories has taken stories from my childhood and made them into more than just a book. Â They have made it fun for kids as well as helping the kids who are beginner readers to enjoy reading. Â I mean just think of the spark of proudness in their eye when they hear themselves reading the story.
Toni’s  Final Thoughts: I would love to see My Living Stories incorporate other languages in addition to the French and English. Otherwise this is a great app for kids (non-readers, beginners and experienced) and it is definitely Daily Dose Approved.
