Aloha Friday: My very first one

0 Flares Filament.io 0 Flares ×

Welcome to my very first edition of Aloha Friday, since I have started working my mind has been kaput really so this is so very perfect for me to post until I have the energy to muster up something brilliant. Don’t forget after you answer my question in the comments to sign Mister Linkey with the url to your Aloha Friday post (or you can switch it around LOL)

My questions for today are well ,plain and simple, because I am so tired I want to hear about things to do with sleep or lack there of:

How long is the longest you have stayed awake without sleep?

How much sleep do you need to “feel good” all day?

When you don’t get enough sleep what are some ways you get through the day until you can catch up on sleep?

For more Aloha Friday questions head over to An Island Life and get your answer on.

I think the longest I’ve stayed up was about 36 hours and I was exhausted. But that’s a guess.

A good 7-8 hours will keep me feeling rested, but I don’t get it often.

I really don’t do anything special – just try to keep it easy, and keep myself hydrated!

    Amy A.K.A. "The Mrs." :

Way, way back in the day, I would stay up until 3 or 4 at in bars/after hours/parties. Craziness.

I need at least 8 hours of sleep to wake up feeling good.

When I don’t get enough sleep, I drink lots and lots and lots of coffee. It’s my little crutch. lol

    Aloha!

the longest time ive stayed awake without sleep is 50 hours!
i need at least 8-9 hours of sleep to *feel good* but that rarely happens to I drink a lot of Mt. Dew to help me make it thru the day. Or I try to nap when the baby naps, but i’m usually trying to pick up the house.

I stayed up like 40 hours one time or something.. I wont say why but it was during my much much wilder, pre-marriage, pre-kids, no responsibilities days.

I’d love a good 8 hours of sleep a night, but that doesnt happen. Its usually about 6. I could sleep all day though if someone let me.

    Welcome to Aloha Friday!!

The longest I have stayed up was probably about 30 hours…yuk!

I love my sleep and would really like to get at least 10 hours/night. Needless to say, that doesn’t happen.

I try to keep moving when I’m tired. And lots of water.

Good luck – hope you get a nap today. :)

    Amy-Happy Momma :

Longest- I think it was about 40 a flight from Taiwan to Florida

To feel good- 8 to 9 (nearly never happens)

What do I do? Just put one foot in front of the other. Make a list to check off so I don’t forget and set the timer to help me focus on one project at a time.

    The Farmer Files :

I need 8 hrs to feel good all day…far more than I needed when I worked outside the home. My boys zap all my energy!

    Sage and Savvy :

At least 8…but that’s impossible with my newborn =)

Longest I stayed awake-72 hours, it was when they NICU docs twin #1 would not make it.

I need 7 hours of sleep.

  10. 10

I think the longest I have stayed up is maybe 48 hours. I am queen of not sleeping, even now with 3 kids! I love to sleep I just can’t…. I would love a solid 8 hours

I don’t think it was much more than 24 hours. I don’t function well at all without sleep. I can get by with 6 hours for a few days but I really need more like 8 to feel great.

  12. 12

Oh I stayed up all night quite a few nights in college…either studying or out partying.

These days I need at least 7 hours to feel good.

Coffee helps when I haven’t had enough sleep!

I don’t remember the longest I’ve been up but I do know it was at least 24 hours. Crazy.
I need at least 8 hours to function without a nap during the day. But lately I’ve been getting 6, so I go back to sleep after the kids go to school.
To get through the day when I don’t have enough, lots and lots of caffine.

  14. 14

I need at least 8 hours of sleep to be able to function and feel well.

  15. 15

How long is the longest you have stayed awake without sleep?
Probably a full 24 hours when I was in college…lately, probably about 20 hours.

How much sleep do you need to “feel good” all day?
    9-10 hours

When you don’t get enough sleep what are some ways you get through the day until you can catch up on sleep?
Chocolate, giving my students “busy work”, soda, water, anything really!

I once had to stay away for a “sleep deprived eeg” test..UGH. I am NOT a happy person to be around. I definitely need to have sleep.

How much sleep do I really need?? Since I have been diagnosed with lupus, I seriously NEED to have at least 12 hours to feel anywhere “ok”. (I know…this is WHY I was not “blessed” to have any kids–just my little “furbaby” who THINKS she is my baby!!)
