This totally happened….
Not for lack of trying, because it totally would have been this, had I had any say…
I may not have gotten to marry Captain America (Chris Evans), but I did get to go on set with Chris Evans while he filmed Captain America: The Winter Soldier. I even had the chance to watch a scene being filmed…the first 30 seconds of this trailer, to be exact:
Wait, let me stop right there, to let that sink in. I was on the lot of a MARVEL movie, where Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), and Frank Grillo were filming! Watching them while they were in the Quinjet (how’s that for geeky fan-girl knowledge for ya). I was in the room, where this was happening, only feet away…oh did I mention I got to go in the Quinjet…because I totally did. It was the stuff fan-girl dreams are made of!
Not only did we get to visit on set, we got to visit with Chris, himself! So, yes, that really is him in the photo above, with me, wearing the exact suit you see in his photo with Scarlett! He was super nice and so funny. Here’s our group photo with him…I totally, accidentally, of course, touched his butt when we took this. Only because he was so tall, when I went to put my arm around him, it just happened.
I still die a little when I see this and realize…I was on a movie set!! It’s one step away from being in a movie itself, right? To be on set, was nothing other than AMAZING. There is so much work that goes into making a movie. As I said, we just saw the one scene being filmed, and the amount of times they had to repeat the scene, was insane. At times I thought “Oh, they nailed it“, they would say “Great job” and then “Okay roll again“. I never really thought about how much work goes into the movie for the actors, and it’s a ton!!!
Hearing “Quiet On The Set” is such a surreal moment! There was really so much happening. Cords galore, lots of technology…though we had to turn our phones off of course and actors working hard! We even got to chat with Frank Grillo, who was so funny!!!
As viewers, we see the finished product, sometimes we (or at least speaking for myself) don’t think about how much goes into making a movie. Everything from the actors, to the producers, directors, prop masters, the sets, and so much more goes into making movies. Going on set, was truly a dream I didn’t know I had, until I experienced it. I can’t thank Marshall, Disney, and Marvel enough for allowing me such an unbelievable experience. I’ll never forget a minute of it as long as I live, and my boys think I am THE coolest mom now! How many other parents can tell their kids they got to hang with Captain America!
While, my adventure didn’t end on a wedding aisle, I have no doubt it will end in something like this….
You know, me accompanying Chris Evans on the red carpet. I figure after the accidental butt touching, we are BFF’s and he will want a bestie to walk the red carpet with! Or at least ask me to be his sidekick…
Captain America: The Winter Soldier hits theaters 4/4/14, you can go ahead and get your advanced tickets on Fandango! You know I’ll be there, will you??
**Thank you to Disney and Marvel for allowing me this amazing experience. While expenses were paid, my opinions are truly my honest views. All on set photos provided by Marvel**
