That is the look I have had for the past 1 year and 5 months, which in Toni hair dying length is EONS..  So, today it was time to lighten up.  A fresh look for 2012, when possibilities are all I need.  I almost had a panic attack when I found out my stylist was no longer at the salon, come to find out the salon closed and she is working from her home or your home which you prefer.  I have to say, being able to stay in my PJ’s and get my hair done in the comfort of my home was a bonus.  So today, yours truly here, went lighter for 2012.

Blonde suits me much better anyways, I have many a blonde moments so it was time to go back to this color.  Not to mention I love that it brings out my eyes.  2012 is going to be a great year I can just feel it, so it was time to brighten up the look.  Now I’m ready to run full force in 2012!  I am a serial dyer so in a few months, it could be black cherry….only time will tell but for now I am loving my blonde!

I am lucky in the fact that 3 weeks out of each month my skin is dang near perfect. However one week out of each month my hormones kick into overdrive and I get some not so pretty problems. They have to be right out in the open and very well seen, I figure it’s karma getting me back since *knock on wood* my skin is great most of the time (well minus the wrinkles). I wondered if Proactiv would work for those of us who just have the occasional breakout. So my 30 day journey commenced with the kit they sent me:

My twice daily cleansing consisted of washing with the cleanser, followed by the toner, rounding it all out with the repairing lotion. I loved the feel of my face after washing in the morning and evening. The cleanser was a little gritty because of the “beads” to get rid of the dead skin and freshen you up. The toner was like a breath of fresh air to the face. Last the repairing lotion made my skin feel smooth, yet not oily like most facial moisturizers.

Also included were the repairing mask and green tea moisturizer. The repairing mask can be used as a mask after washing with cleanser. I personally loved it as a spot treatment. As I said, I have the monthly breakouts and this was amazing. Proactiv helped me not to have as many breakouts but a few did still make themselves known and I used the repairing mask as an overnight spot treatment and they were gone in the morning. The moisturizer is a great way to awaken tired skin. It’s a serum that is great when you are looking to hydrate skin but don’t want oily which could increase acne.

I am definitely going to be picking up some more Proactiv when we run out. My tween is starting to deal with the dreaded teen skin that most of us went through and I think this will be great for him. Proactiv worked great for me personally I hope you will have the same experience. Nude, buff, blush (if you add a tinge of pink), the color of the season for me….Nude and all that it encompasses.

This fall dare to go nude! In color that is. A lot of people think Blah when they think of nude, not me, I think of possibilities. Now granted you don’t want to go head to toe nude, that’s a little over kill but pairing a nude jacket or shirt with a nude handbag or heels just screams sexy. I don’t know if it’s the color or the word that makes me think that. I mean really what doesn’t look great about this color for fall….

Why not branch out and go for nude lips! No one said bold colors had to have all the fun! I adore M.A.C Cosmetics Viva Glam Lipglass. You will find it on my lips quite often. Sheer, glossy, it’s a wonderful lip treat and I suggest you run out and grab it up. You can’t be shy though, this takes nude to a whole new level so you’ll want to play the makeup up with the lips being so light. Keep soft on the blush but play up the eyes and the look will have heads turning.

I love the jackets, boots, peep toes in this color.  Remember don’t overkill.  Nude pants I could go without, jeans speak fall to me paired with one of the above mentioned items.  In fact I think here with the beautiful white beaches that could be a great photo opp!  So, I will be bringing out the basic nude and making it not so basic this fall, I hope you do the same. Keep your clothes on and get ready to go nude this fall!

I AM SPEECHLESS *almost*

I as a parent want better for my children than I had.  I want them to do the things I didn’t.  However I am sane.  I will not go to extremes to live a dream through them which is exactly what this lady is doing.   I am glad CFS stepped in and are looking into this issue.  This child deserves to live the life of a child.  Not one of an insecure grown up woman who until now seemed to have no lengths she wouldn’t go to “fix” her daughter.

The sad thing is she was really trying to fix all her insecurities.  Unfortunately that got pushed onto the daughter and because of that the daughter will now have a whole new set of insecurities she never should have.  Shaking my head and choking up at the disservice that has happened to this precious child.  Disservice is putting it lightly.

I only hope this serves as something to whack the mom into reality and she gets the help she needs.  And that little girl doesn’t suffer long term damage from her mom’s idiocy!

Maybe I should start a “Parenting 101: Common Sense In Parenting for Those Who Don’t Have It” segment.   Sigh.

Today we are featuring a gift basket o’ goodies from Conair for some great ideas to get Mom this Mother’s Day.  I don’t know about you but I like to look good, well on days that I am not being lazy LOL.  Part of the fun of being a mom who is girly is doing my hair.  I like to curl, straighten, and everything in between.  Conair has some great products for you to consider giving as gifts if the mom in your life likes all the girly stuff.  I was contacted and asked if I would like to review (and giveaway) a few items they have and when I looked them over I knew this would be a great addition to my Mother’s Day Gift Guide.

First up is the Scünci Bendini™ .  This is (supposed to be) an easy way to glam up a simple hair style. You first figure what hairstyle you are going with.  At least part of it must be pulled up/back. Once you have your hair styled to your liking, you simply slide in and snap into place.  I do suggest securing the style first, when I tried this with just hair (no rubber bands, etc) it didn’t hold well.  So definitely secure the style and then add for a little extra effect.  I also got the kids bendini to try on my daughter and she loved the added glam.

Next up is the You Style 2-in-1 brush!  With one simple click this goes from a flat brush to a round brush. You can start while blow drying in the flat position so you can achieve that straight and smooth look (or for everyday brushing).  Then click and make it round to get volume or flip over/under your ends.  I have oogles of brushes for those reasons, I want different looks so I have a brush for each of them.  I think I may finally get to get rid of some now that I have this brush.  A few more things about the brush (from the site):

• Combination of boar and nylon bristles distributes scalp’s own oils to leave hair silky and shiny
• Vents allow airflow to reach hair for faster drying and styling
• Ball-tipped bristles gently glide through hair for stress-free brushing.
• No more need to pack two brushes when traveling — the You Style™ Brush is 2 brushes in 1!

The last item they sent me to try was the Infiniti Pro 2 inch Spin Air Brush ($68.99).  That’s a mouthful to say huh!  I was really excited to try this one as anything that can cut my hairstyling time down is definitely something I need.  Or so I think I need.  It’s in simple terms a brush dryer.  Meaning you can use the air to dry hair while you style.  Concept is über cool!  It’s a monster in size, 2 inches around.  With 2 heat settings and a cool setting you can dry and then set (and shine).  One of the first things I noticed after the size was that it changed direction in rotation.  So you don’t have to try using your non-dominant hand to style.

My thoughts after use.  It does give you that curl under or flip out but it’s very subtle which I like since I am usually flat ironing my hair.  Also it didn’t seem to want to work with my hair wet so I did have to partially dry it.  Be careful when you first use it as the rotation is pretty fast and I got my hair tangled up (even though it has the tangle free bristles).  After I got the hang of the speed it was easy to keep from tangling and I got a nice curl under.  I did have to do sections of my hair as I do have thick and semi-curly hair. The rotation buttons are very touchy so a little touch is all you need.  If you want volume use spin function, also great for lift at the roots.  If you prefer no volume use without spin function.  All in all minus a few little hitches I thought this was a great item to add to my hair routine and think your mom would love one of these this mothers day.

While I love the look (well I love pretty much all hair colors on myself, though style is a whole other story), it was time for something not as high maintenance. Being half italian I am subject to the dark roots and when they grow out a week later it’s almost time to get them done again. Right now it’s time for cut backs for things not a necessity. Unfortunately blonde isn’t a necessity so it was time to say goodbye. Bring in the natural dark:

I figure it’s a great way to start 2011! Out with the old and in with the natural! I am hoping 2011 brings blessings (and a job ASAP) to my family as well as many blessings to each of yours. I said I had a new love for 2011 as well, surely that has you all raising your eyebrows. No RPatz didn’t come ask me to run away, no Bon Jovi didn’t say he was ready to leave his high school sweetheart for me but I do have a new love……

CAST IRON skillets!

Where in the world have I been that I had never owned one of these before? I can already smell and taste the yummy food I know will be making an appearance in my household with this. Yes, yours truly here, in her 31 years of living has never had a cast iron until now! It put a whole new meaning to friend Spam and pan fried fish. I am drooling just thinking about it.

Now what to do for my New Year’s Resolutions. Err, I will have to get back to you on that one because it has to be do-able so as not to set myself up for failure right! However while I am thinking of mine, feel free to share yours with me in the comments below.

Okay tonight I went out to dinner with some amazing peeps from work and while we were there, the lovely Kat showed me a video that had me cracking up. Sounds kind of scary but supposed to work really well. Well never fear if you don’t own a vibrating mascara that’s not a problem because you can just do this:

Yes it’s true.  I am a Victoria’s Secret Addict.  I was starting to bring out my spring clothes and put up the winter (HOORAY) and decided to do a little Spring Cleaning of my drawers.  I started with my bras, all are in good condition so I kept them all.  How many bra’s do I have?  FIFTEEN, 10 of which are Victoria’s Secret.  Now that isn’t too bad right?  Just tell me it’s not so I feel better because when I tell you how many pairs of underwear I own I may have to hide in shame.

As I said a second ago we are moving into the underwear next.  SEVENTY pair of undies, and only 5 are NOT Victoria’s Secret .  And all of them are in really good condition, but I guess considering I have enough for over 2 months of wear it’s not a surprise they are still in good condition huh.  I always get them for Christmas or a birthday (and I mean I get a ton due to GC’s and stocking stuffers) so I get the new cute line each time.  Then not to mention I will stick to several pair until I just don’t like them anymore or (close your eyes men) that time of the month comes early then I will throw them out.  So I have tons of pairs that still have tags on them.

Maybe I should start buying some of the Victoria’s Secret clothes/shoes/bathing suits with the GC’s I get.  Then at least I wouldn’t have an abundance of underwear.  Though I will say I have veered off the under clothes course and received/bought makeup, lotions, lingerie (which hubs LOVED) and fragrances.  So you see I have this addiction to Victoria’s Secret, I can’t seem to get enough of the cute little stuff.  I guess for the next birthday and Christmas I will tell them to hold off on the VS Gift card, either that or I must stay away from the under clothing, soon I will need a room just for that alone.

I thought my purse/shoe addiction was bad, I am beginning to think Victoria’s Secret may take the front runner position soon.  So what are some addictions you have? And Please tell me you have more undies than me, it really will make me feel less like a freak.
