Sunday is bringing one of the biggest games of the year, the Superbowl.  Fans all over will be watching with intensity to see who will be crowned the best of the best.  Others will be watching to see what the commercials have in store. This mama bear and her cubs will be watching. Whether you are a fan of the game, the teams or simply the commercials one thing is certain….this year there will be a different type of fan joining in.  Quite a bit bigger, a whole lot furrier than the usual fan, joining in the Superbowl festivities this year are none other than the Coca-Cola Polar bears.

They’ll be rooting for their favorite teams and joining fans around the nation via live stream to put in their two cents during the game.  The iconic animated Coca-Cola polar Bears will be hijacking Coca-Cola’s twitter and you can follow along to see what they have to say by tracking #GameDayPolarBears .  I am sure these furry friends will have plenty to say throughout the big game.  In fact they even have a few superstitious ways to hopefully bring their team luck:

I loaded myself and my mom up in the car for an adventure I usually save for the kids. Today, though it was all about ME! Too often us parents don’t get the luxury of saying that, especially when I’m going to Build-A-Bear Workshop. I have taken my kids in the past but this day I was going to have a hands on experience and make my own little stuffed friend.

As I walked through the doors I was amazed at how much fun this would be to a child’s eye if it was making me smile! There were outfits and accessories galore. Plenty of friends to choose from. Adults and kids alike can have a blast in Build-A-Bear and right now through the December 18, 2011 you can get ANY animal and an outfit (not accessories, undies, shoes, etc) for $24.99. Let me just tell you that is a GREAT deal as some of the animals are around $25 alone, so get to hurrying (after reading this post of course) while this deal is going on.

First things first, I had to choose which character would be coming home with me. This was not an easy choice as you can see:

Up and down the aisle I went and finally decided I needed a little more pink in my life….Hello Kitty it is. Grabbed up my flat friend and checked out the sounds you can choose from. I hear enough sounds with 3 kids so a silent friend I am bringing home. I do love that you can add phrases to the animal you make. It’s time to “bring her to life”. Let the stuffing begin:

After picking a heart it was time to give my animal some listening ears, a full tummy, smarts, and love. I wonder if this will work on kids?!!

All is well, hello kitty is stuffed and ready to go. Of course before picking out the outfit she will don, a bath is needed. All scrubbed up and ready to go it’s time to hit the clothing section. A section I venture to say most females would be envious of. So many outfits, shoes, accessories it truly is a newly made bear (or other animal) dream. Tell me you would not like to have a closet big enough to hold all this:

Being the girly girl that I am, it took me eons to figure out what outfit I wanted hello kitty to have. How is a girl to choose with their being so many choices. After searching and mulling over choices I finally decided it was the perfect time to be a little festive. So hello kitty got to get a fun Christmasy look. After dressing her it was time to officially adopt my new stuffed friend, so we headed over to the computer area where you name them and get a “birth certificate” to show you are now the new owner of your stuffed animal.

I have to say I can absolutely see why my kids loved this place. It’s an experience that you won’t likely forget. With so many animals and outfits to choose from you can make the perfect friend for yourself, your child or someone you know. They have outfits from motorcycle gear to military gear, and wedding outfits to beach stuff. I’ve always been a huge fan of hidden object games. Whether it’s online or in a book I love to search for hidden objects. Having said that, my kids seemed to inherit that gene from me. Whenever they catch me playing they run up and start searching with me. I have no doubt it will be any different when they get their hands on Toyland Express, a book in the Can You See What I See series.

I have to say my family enjoys these type of books. We have fun and sometimes make it a game to see who can find a certain object first or quickest time in finding all the objects on one page. This is a wonderful idea to give this Christmas.

The love-able characters of Cars return in the sequel, Cars 2. Bringing back the original cast (sans Doc Hudson) along with a new bunch of characters Cars 2 is a movie my family and I enjoy quite often. We were huge fans of Cars so it was a given that when Cars 2 came out we would be checking it out. I did have a moment of not wanting anything to do with the movie when I heard Doc Hudson was no longer in it but then got over my moment when it was explained why. So glad I did not stay in the mad moment.

Cars 2 puts my favorite character, Mater, at the fore front most of the movie. The movie kept each of my kids attention and I giggled right along with them through most of it. There was action, a bit of suspense and of course the much needed “funnies” as my kids call the parts that made them laugh. Cars 2 is a great follow up to Cars (though to be honest I will always love it just a tad bit more).

One of the big things about Cars 2 is the whole spy thing. I can’t give the movie away but trust me when I say your kids will be wanting to be a spy after watching this movie. Good thing is they can, Juicy Juice has a Spy school all ready to put their spy tendencies to the test. They can play games, created their very own spy journal and so much more. Get them into spy mode with Cars 2, spy school and Juicy Juice.

Ever since I worked with American Girl for their Shine On Now program I have been a huge fan. I love that they give back, I love that they have dolls from all walks of life, I love that they make something my daughter treasures. During the program mentioned above my daughter received her first American Girl doll and she has loved that doll like no other toy she owns.

To understand what that means you have to understand my daughter. She is a fast paced little one, has been ever since she was born on our doorstep. When she gets something for her birthday or Christmas she loves it and then tires of it and it becomes something taking up space in the house. Not her American Girl, Addison, is one of her favorite toys. She may not play with her for a week but that is the one toy she goes back to all the time and never tires of.

One of the newest things I have worked with American Girl on is their Marie-Grace and Cecile journey. A series based in New Orleans two unlikely girls form a friendship and adventures begin. I had the chance to read the first book in each series and both my daughter and I loved them. Stories of friendship, hard times, adventures and so much more this series is brought to life by having the accompanying Marie-Grace and Cecile dolls.

We had the chance to have a Marie-Grace doll in hand for this Christmas and I know my daughter is going to love it. As I checked out the doll I was almost wishing it was mine. Dressed in the clothing of her time (1853) she is stunning. Dark brown hair with curls and blue eyes that stand out definitely makes this American Girl one to have.

So if you are looking for something special to give your little girl this Christmas season, think about giving her an American Girl. I personally love the Marie-Grace and Cecile line because of the books that help bring the dolls to life for your little girl. My daughter and I love to sit and read the stories I can’t wait to see her face when she had “the real” Marie-Grace with us as we read. One of the things I am not a fan of when it comes to the fall/winter season is the cold and congestion that usually comes along with it for myself and my husband.
