**I received a 2014 Toyota Sienna Limited to drive for 3 months as part of a campaign. Opinions are the honest views of yours truly**
I’m smiling for good reason, our road trips (and around town trips for that matter) got a little more fun thanks to the 2014 Toyota Sienna. With 3 kids driving anywhere that takes more than 5 minutes, can be, well, stressful. The close quarters we sit in during family outings, trips, or anything of the like, triggers the “Let’s aggravate each other” sensor in their little brains. With the 2014 Toyota Sienna, they can have their attention diverted from annoying one another to watching their favorite movies, playing their favorite video games (OH YES), or listening to their favorite songs.
Let’s start with the music, because as the driver, it’s the main entertainment portion for me. The navigation area, which I touched on in my last post, is also the sound area. I would say radio, but it’s so much more than that. It is the area you can listen to music or movies. Check out these options available on the limited:
- AM/FM/MP3/CD Player
- Integrated SiriusXM satellite radio capability w/ 90 day trial subscription
- Auxiliary audio jack
- USB port with iPod/iPhone connectivity
- Music streaming via Bluetooth
- DVD option
Holy options for music!! I tend to spend a lot of my time on 3 of the 6, those being FM, Satellite, and Bluetooth. I love that can listen to my Spotify or iTunes songs right through the streaming function thanks to Bluetooth. I have been listening to Christmas on the Coast with our local FM radio station. Last, but possibly my favorite, is the Sirius XM (yes it’s something extra, a monthly subscription is required), because I can listen to 80s on 8 and 90s on 9. Two of my favorite eras. Seriously the music listening (or news shows if that’s your thing) options are great!
It’s not just about the options for picking your music, it’s the listening experience itself. With ten speakers including a subwoofer and easy adjusting things like front/rear/left/right sounds as well as treble/bass, it’s so much fun to listen to music. Another cool feature about the sound in the 2014 Sienna Limited, is the auto-adjust feature. If you are driving down the road and you speed up, the sound goes up to, when you slow down, the volume lowers. Which means no tinkering while you drive. Although, with volume, mode, and seek controls on the steering wheel, you don’t have to take your eyes off the road to switch songs or adjust volume. Are you as in love as I am yet?
Now, let’s talk entertainment on the road for the kids. Sure music is great, but isn’t watching your favorite movie even better, and isn’t being able to play your favorite video game EPIC!! Thanks to the 16.4-inch widescreen DUAL view entertainment center, rides are never boring. If you have kids that can agree on a movie, that’s awesome, it’s a wide screen for ultimate movie watching during trips. If, however, you have kids like mine where they want to watch different things, then no worries.
With the video input and outlets for plugs, you can either bring an extra DVD player or your kids favorite game system! It’s like icing on the travel cake! The entertainment system in the 2014 Toyota Sienna limited is easily controlled with the remote control. You can either play the movie through the stereo speakers or through headphone. There are two headphone jacks back with the 3rd row and the wireless headphones are perfect for those sitting in the middle row (in the seat that reclines mind you).
The entertainment system in the Sienna is just what my family needs. During our recent trip to Orlando it saved us from a lot of those “Are we there yet?” We were able to tell the kids “If you watch four movies, we will be there”. So they took turns picking and had a blast watching new and favorite movies alike. This is just one more reason I am not going to be giving this Sienna back at the end of the program, she wants to stay with me and I desperately need to keep her in my life. She saved my sanity on our last road trip, way less arguing meant peaceful rides for mom and dad!
Entertaining on the road with the 2014 Toyota Sienna is fun for the kids and a god-send for the parents! Do you have a entertainment system in your vehicle??
