Epcot Flower & Garden Festival

Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival

As part of the Monkey Kingdom event, I had the chance to check out the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival. This is one of my favorite times of the year at Epcot. To see classic Disney characters in a whole new way is something that is fun for both kids and adults alike.

Butterfly Heroes

Before making my way around the world we stopped into one of the small gardens where we learned all about how kids can become Butterfly Heroes. Head to nwf.org/butterflyheroes to find out more! I love that the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival helps kids make the world a better place! You will find this inside the Nature Rocks- Let’s Go Explore exhibit by The Nature Conservancy. Kids and adults can learn how to create a backyard habitat.

Of course the big draw at the Flower and Garden Festival are the topiary displays. Check out some of the most loved Disney characters I was able to snap a shot of, in their topiary display form:

Pumba Epcot Flower and Garden Festival

It really is neat to see favorite characters in this fun way. When I took my kids a few years ago, to the Epcot International Flower and Garden festival, they were amazed at the creations. Of course those aren’t the only characters you can see, here are some of the others featured through the park:

Spring Is in the Air! – NEW!
Featuring Butterfly Topiaries
Disney•Pixar’s Mater and Lightning McQueen
Disney•Pixar’s Buzz Lightyear
Disney•Pixar’s Mike Wazowski and Sulley
Presented by Landscape Structures, Inc.

Phineas and Ferb
Farmer Mickey Mouse & Minnie Mouse
Bambi and Friends
Peter Pan, Captain Hook & Tick Toc Crock
Belle and Beast
Cinderella and Prince Charming
Tinker Bell
Year of the Sheep
Winnie the Pooh
Goofy About Spring – NEW!

Attending the Flower and Garden festival isn’t just about the beautiful plants and flowers, vendors bring in foods to represent places of the world. The Outdoor Kitchens at the 2015 Epcot® International Flower and Garden Festival are full of food that will have you feeling like you are in a whole new place!

Need a break from walking? You might be able to catch a show at the stage in front of “America”, in fact Jon Secada was performing the day we were there. Even though this wasn’t my first time at the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival, it was no less exciting. I had such a blast touring the countries and seeing everything from a healing garden to a pizza garden. Nature is one amazing thing!

Speaking of nature, today is EARTH DAY, so I really want to encourage you to head to theaters to see Monkey Kingdom. If you see Monkey Kingdom anytime through April 23, they will donate on your behalf! It’s playing nationwide, so it’s a great time to go see an awesome movie, see my review here, and give back! Get to know Maya and Kip in the trailer:

Monkey Kingdom

Life is an adventure for Maya, the clever and resourceful blonde-bobbed monkey in “Monkey Kingdom,” Disneynature’s new feature film set among ancient ruins in the storied jungles of South Asia. Maya’s world is forever changed when she welcomes her son, Kip, into her complicated extended family. Like all families, Maya’s has more than its share of colorful personalities—and she’s determined to give her son a leg up in the world. When their longtime home at Castle Rock is taken over by powerful neighboring monkeys, Maya’s whole family is forced to relocate, where she uses her street smarts and ingenuity to lead them to untapped resources amidst strange new creatures and unsettling surroundings. Ultimately, they will all have to work together to reclaim Castle Rock, where Maya can hopefully realize her dreams for her son’s future. Featuring a rich cast of characters, including a mischievous mongoose, simple-minded langur monkeys, predatory leopards and monitor lizards, “Monkey Kingdom” is directed by Mark Linfield (“Chimpanzee,” “Earth”) and co-directed by Alastair Fothergill (“Chimpanzee,” “Bears”). With music from award-winning composer Harry Gregson-Williams (“The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe,” “Shrek” movies), Disneynature’s eighth True Life Adventure—the follow-up to 2014’s “Bears”
