One of my favorite things to do with my friends and family anytime of the year is get together and have a bonfire. Hershey’s has taken it a step further and a name better and are having a fun summer with their HERSHEY’S CAMP BONDFIRE.
I have so many great memories of sitting around a fire with friends and family roasting hot dogs and finally the favorite part…s’mores. So when I was asked if I would like to participate in HERSHEY’S CAMP BONDFIRE the answer was easy. Any excuse to get a big group of the people I love together I am in. The night of our bondfire we gathered up the goodies (HERSHEY’S chocolate, marshmallows, and graham crackers and we headed down to my parents lot on the river. We got the fire started…
…and then it was time to get to the fun part, the s’more making. I admit to making a s’more or two at home in my microwave but there really is nothing else like roasting a marshmallow over a fire, getting the outside all crispy while the inside is melty. Then plopping it onto the waiting chocolate and graham cracker…YUM!
The important part of the night wasn’t the s’mores (though they definitely win the award for the yummiest) but rather the memories we made, the conversations we shared and the time we spent together. In today’s fast past world sometimes we don’t slow down enough to spend the time with the ones we love the most. The moments like this, when you aren’t worried about what is happening around you but rather you are just watching kids run, laugh and play and chatting with your friends are what really make life worth living. Seeing my kids have a blast was worth more than this mom could ever put into words. Look at all the memories we made:
