I’m a mom of 3 VERY ACTIVE children. My boys are in soccer right now, they get sweaty and gross to be frank, but they are awesome to watch out there. Luckily for me they are pretty tame about staining most of their clothes except that uniform. Now my daughter is a whole different story. She likes to get out in the dirt and when she’s not outside playing she is inside making her newest art project with markers, colors, paint…if it can make something a different color she’ll use it.
As a mother I try to keep my sanity in the laundry room and have a bunch of “play” clothes that have stains. I keep pushing the fact of needing to change out of good school clothes and put on the already stained clothes for play and practice. If I am not paying attention when my daughter puts on her artist hat chances are that shirt is the newest addition to the play clothes drawer.
I have literally tried everything and somethings have worked okay, some not at all but I just had the chance to try OxiClean’s Versatile Stain Remover powder. I happened to be able to grab this shirt right off her to take the before photo. You can see that colors of marker (that are still stained in all her play clothes) and paint…not finger or water colors…like real paint LOL.
And then we have the after:
I swear even the white looks whiter. I soaked for an hour as directed before throwing into the wash with my regular detergent and washing like normal. Out it came looking as good as new…or maybe even better since it was a hand me down. I was pleasantly surprised at how well the marker and paint came out, with very little effort. All I had to do was pour the powder in a container, fill with water, soak and then wash. My husband even used it on his delicate dress shirts to get rid of the ring around the collar, I just wish I had thought to take pictures of that.
Here’s how it works (information provided):
Activated by water, OxiClean unleashes bubbling oxygen for effective cleaning and stain removal. OxiClean’s newly reformulated Versatile Stain Remover has 40% more oxygen power per scoop than the current version – and is safe to use on both whites and colors. In the wash, it enhances your detergent’s cleaning ability and also contains special ingredients to help rinse those sports soils away
OxiClean’s Versatile Stain remover did what it said it would do for me. It got the stains out, combined with me catching the stain early as well I assume. Not only can you use it for clothing but for cleaning as well. Furniture, carpets, hard floors, if you can clean it you can *probably* use OxiClean (of course read up on that first, as I make no guarantees it is safe to use on everything). I had success in the laundry/stain department with it…next up, the bathroom! That scares me a little, I’ll let you know my findings once I brave it.
Disclosure: I wrote this review while participating in a blog tour by Mom Central Consulting on behalf of OxiClean and received OxiClean items to facilitate my review and a promotional item to thank me for taking the time to participate.
