Soarin’ Now Open at Epcot

soarin at epcot

Are you ready to go to The Great Wall of China, Sydney Harbon in Australia or even Switzerland’s Matterhorn? Well, get ready to do just that the next time you visit Epcot, Disney California Adventure, and Shanghai Disneyland (though it is called Soaring Over the Horizon here)! The newly re-imagined attraction Soarin’ Around the world is now open at all three Disney Parks!

When you visit one of the three Soarin’ Around the World rides you’ll get to adventure to more than a dozen magnificent destinations around the world. It’s like getting to travel without needing a passport. In Soarin’ Around The World (or Over the Horizon) you head into an 80-foot projection screen dome that will take riders up to 40 feet in the air, really filling each riders entire field of vision. During your adventure you will feel as if you are flying through natural and man-made landmarks.

I had the chance to ride the previous version of the ride and it was amazing so I have no doubt the new version will be just as amazing. Not only do riders get to enjoy really taking in these landmarks but they will hear and sometimes smell what it would be like to be there in person. It’s the next best thing to traveling to the landmarks in person, and it’s way less expensive.

As if the changes to the ride itself isn’t exciting enough, the queue line now has a new game called “Soarin’ Challenge”. Guests can use their smartphones to play while waiting to get on the ride. This is awesome because, I’ll be honest, the wait for this attraction has always been a little steeper than other attractions, so why not entertain yourself! It’s a travel trivia game that allows guests to play each other and answer questions on cuisine, language, geography and more. You can unlock passport stamps and up your score so you can have travel trivia bragging rights!

I am super excited to check out Soarin’ Around the World next time I head to Walt Disney World’s Epcot.  What about you? Are you ready to go Soarin’ Around the World?
