Let me paint a picture for you. One kid has my phone watching Netflix on cellular data, while another listens to music on an iPad with no data. Then it’s time for them to change and music kid now gets to watch movies while the other child gets to listen to music. Then the unthinkable happens, the “You’ve used all your data” message pops up and second movie kid is now in the worst of moods the rest of the trip. It’s happened to us, but it’s not a worry I will have any more, thanks to this SUPER EXCITING, BEST EVER Netflix news!
**Thanks to being a part of the Netflix Stream team I received a one year VIP membership to Netflix, iPad Pro, and some other fun items as a thank you for working with them over the next year. All opinions are always my own**
That means I can save my data AND still be able to watch Netflix while traveling. Y’all I can’t even begin to say how excited I am about this! Netflix is upping their game (and this is why I love working with them and being a stream team member, they are always making me smile). It’s super easy to enjoy excellent movies and shows on-the-go, here’s how:
How To Download TV shows and movies on Netflix
First, on your iOS or Android device make sure you have the Netflix app (and update it to the latest version if you don’t have automatic updates). You will need iOS 8.0 or later or Android 4.4.2 or later for this to work. Check…I’ll wait. Okay, now that you have that all fixed you will initially need an internet connection, so it’s best to do this while you are at home or somewhere with wifi. Now, you can do this while you are on the go because you can do it with cellular data, but if you want to save your data for other things, stick to doing it over wifi.
You can download select TV shows and movies to watch without an Internet connection from the Netflix app on your iOS or Android device. As mentioned, not all titles are available for download, so to check if a title is available or not just look for the download icon () or you can browse the Netflix menu, just make sure you select “Available for download.” Once you find a title, you want to download simply select it, tap the download icon (for TV shows the icons won’t appear next to the main title, but the available episodes). Once it’s downloaded, you can access it from “My Downloads” in the Netflix app. You can even choose the best video quality for your device! Then to watch your movie that you have downloaded just click play, for TV shows click the main title, then the episode and then play!
So, now that Netflix just became a lot easier to enjoy while traveling here are some movies and shows currently available or coming in December that you can watch while riding down the road:
