There may come a time in my life when I can’t care for myself. If that time every approaches I hope my kids will do for me, what I will do for my parents should I need to and make sure I am taken care of. I want them to be able to make the decisions that need to be made without being burdened down.
Sometime down the road they are going to have to make decisions if I get to a point I can no longer make them myself. I hope and pray that doesn’t happen until it’s my time to go but it’s so much better to be prepared, you don’t want the what if to become reality and you weren’t ready for it. I want to make sure I have done my part so, if it comes to them making the decisions, they aren’t dealing with anymore than that. It can be a scary thing to have to make decisions especially when it comes to the well being of the ones you love.
I want to make sure, even if they have to make decisions their lives won’t be adversely affected financially or any other way, which is why it’s important that get prepared. Reading articles like Buyers of Long-Term Care Prefer Home Care helps me to get an idea of what I may need to have ready for my kids if they are in a situation where I need care.
Using a tool like this expense checklist above, I can make sure they don’t have the added stress of trying to cover it themselves. My husband and I can figure out together, what we need to prepare for later so they don’t have to.
I want to watch my kids grow up, see my grandkids and watch them flourish. I want to know I did my part so should they ever need to take care of me, I am not causing undue stress. Thankfully with so many tools out there, I am pretty sure I will be able to make caring for me easier so they can live their lives while making sure their good ‘ole mom is taken care of.
