You Know You’re Italian When….

You know you’re Italian when you have 5 pounds of beef that has turned into about 150 meatballs, used 9 cans of tomato paste as a sauce base, and are still worried that you won’t have enough.

With the 13 people expected they could all eat 10 meatballs and I would still have left overs. Yet it still feels like I don’t quite have enough. That’s my Italian coming out for ya. I guess I should freeze some so I don’t have to spend 8 hours in the kitchen again for awhile huh.

    I’m Italian, too! And if I were to take a picture of my pantry right now – I am definitely WELL STOCKED with tomato paste! I make sauce once a week – freeze some for my friends and enjoy the rest. We never get tired of it – and its been decades of this tradition — probably because my Grandmother’s recipe (she came to the US from Palermo!) is SO darn good!
